The Show Must Go On! ( Yay! my first Subject line!:)

Today is the first day of a Brand New transfer.  Sister Moosman and I

are both staying together in this beautiful area of the Lords Vineyard

:) I am grateful for it too because there is a lot of work that I

still feel needs to be done and more to learn from and teach to sister

Moosman.

There are a lot of Distractions that our thrown at us by the one who

wants us to be miserable just like himself. I know that Heavenly

Father will help us stay focused in His work and will help us all do

the thing that he has commanded us. 1Nephi 3:7 When there's a will,

there's a way!! And Heavenly Father has provided that way through

Jesus Christ. We just need to provide our will to him and then we can

do and see miracles and blessings from His Hands.

We had a very cool miracle on Saturday. We had planned to go visit our

Investigators Honey and Miley and as we were pulling in, Miley was

outside on her scooter and we rolled down the window and said hi and

then parked and talked with her more. She has been reading the

Children's book of Mormon almost every day since we'd given it to her.

We discussed what she had been learning and invited her to pray about

Joseph Smith and the Book of Mormon. She said she would. Her parents

are a little harder to meet with because of the business of life but I

know Miley will be the example for her Family and they will all

continue to progress on this path.

Our wards had their trunk or treat on Saturday too and the elders had

the brilliant Idea of decorating a trunk and handing out pass along

cards with candy. I didn't get a picture but I was a great success and

we got to talk to a few visiting friends not of our faith. It was a

Blast!

I love this work and I know it is real and Jesus Christ is at the

Head. As we look to him, we will be guided and lead to the things we

need to do each hour and minute of each day to fulfill our Heavenly

Fathers Purposes. I know that the Book of Mormon is Gods word and will

invite the spirit into our hearts so we can hear the guidance he gives

through the Holy Ghost.

I hope you all have an amazing week and that you can recognize Gods hand in it!

mom here,  This is completely copy and paste from Grace's letter.  Grace is hoping to be able to post to this blog on her own in future.  We are still getting the kinks worked out.

From Last week
(Oct. 23)

We were able to visit a really fun family last night and we were prompted to

share the doctrine of Christ with them. It was a really spirit led

lesson and we used the end of 2 Nephi 31. I Shared my story about the

mirror that said "what would Jesus Do?" I don't know if I have told

you that one but it was a while ago. let me know if I haven't.

We had a few amazing miracles this week. Wednesday we were watering

sister Humans Flowers and I saw a mail lady doing her job and

recognized her. A while ago in a different part of town we met her and

gave her a copy of the Book of Mormon and she was really excited to

read it. We didn't get her number though. So on wednesday we ran into

her again and she recognized us and said she had been reading the Book

of Mormon. We got her information and she will be able to be taught

soon. Being in the Right Place at the Right time is Awesome!! Another

one I'll share is that we had just visited a potential that had

sincerely told us to come back in two weeks, and I had a prompting to

go and visit a woman the ward asked us to check up on and we hadn't

met yet who lived down the street. She hadn't been to church in a long

time but we went and It turns out that this woman was having a hard

day. She opened up to us and told us her story and in the end she

committed to start Reading the Book of Mormon Everyday again. It was

one of the most spirit filled conversations I have had on my mission.

My Favorite kind ;) I know of the power of the spirit in conversion

and also the power of the book of Mormon.

So much to do...

(Saturday Oct. 14th)
I love getting texts from unknown numbers with pictures of my sweet grace in them.  Sister Wright, her last companion got to go back to visit and her mom sent us some pictures from what looks like a ward dinner.

(Oct. 16)

So much to do, So little time. But Heavenly Father Gives us the time we need to do the things that are most important. We just have to be obedient and trust Him.

The new tools that Heavenly Father has given have both excited me and made me stressed. I think I am passed most of the stress though. I know that Heavenly Father loves, knows, and trusts me. That statement is something that has grown throughout my mission. First I had to learn that He loves me, then that He truly knows me, and just recently I have added on to the testimony that he Trusts me because He asked me to train sister Moosman, He gave me a phone to learn how to use properly and He continues to call me to his work. Everyday I have to recommit to it......
I know that the gospel of Jesus Christ is our only way out, our only way to loose the bands from which we are bound. Jesus Christ over came all things and so can we. When at first you don't succeed, try, try again!

To report on my Goals of helping 3 families on the path to conversion to Christ and to help my companion be more converted, Honey, Dale, and Miley (a Family!) are so prepared for the Gospel and we have taught them the first lesson and Honey is reading the book of Mormon and Miley will follow suite with the children's version. We have not set up a return appointment for this week so we will need to do that to help them progress. We are also working with Randy, an older Gentleman and his Son Tyler, but His wife is not as interested yet. We will pray that her heart will be softened.

Positive thoughts are part of the key as well!

Have a positive, light, peaceful, balanced week! Don't forget to look and pray for the miracles!

Love,
Sister Grace Crossett

(Oct. 21)
This one came with some explanation

"Sisters hard at work again! We had a city wide emergency preparedness fair today. I ran the kids obstacle course with the last stop being the Safe Gathering Place where these cute girls told them how to talk with their families about where to meet when they get separated in an emergency.  Love these girls. So willing to serve in any capacity!"

Book of Mormon challenge

(Sept. 25)

There are some exciting new things happening in the mission. We are getting I-pads!! I'm a little nervous because I'm not the most tech-savy but I also know heavenly Father has been preparing me and especially these areas for such a time as this. Sister Wrights organization skills are going to be such a blessing for me when inputting info about investigators into the i-pad. I don't know all the details about it yet but we will find out at zone conference on Wednesday.

The work this past week has been picking up and we got two new investigators. One of which is a woman with a family that need the gospel. Her Name is Vero and we are going to teach the restoration on Thursday with her. Shelley is all moved in to her new house and she loves it! Everything is falling into place with her and I feel a baptismal date coming soon! She is slowly but surely having her concerns resolved and conference is definitely going to help with that.

I can't believe that General Conference is here again! The opportunity to hear and receive revelation right from God through our Church leaders is such a gift and also a great missionary tool. We have been inviting everyone to watch Conference! I hope that you can
all have some questions and concerns in mind or even write them down so that you can receive those answers through Conference.

The miracles just kept coming!  especially yesterday. Church is an amazing way to fill our wells with the living water and also help share it with others, too. We had an investigator planning on coming to church but she wasn't able to make it. We were able to be in the right
place at the right time. I know if we follow the spirit Heavenly Father will help us bless the lives of others in intricate ways.

I hope you have a great day!

love,

Sister Crossett

(Oct. 2)

The Work is Hastening! I have really felt it and seen the fruits of that statement this week.
We got two new investigators this past week and I know it is a product of our diligence in The Book of Mormon Challenge. I had the opportunity to share my testimony of it at Zone Conference.

With this new tool Heavenly Father is preparing us for, I know it will assist us in furthering his work in so many ways. I am a bit stressed with all that it entails and so is sister Moosman but I am grateful for the unity it will build in our companionship.

On Saturday we were able to work on the safeguards course which is an online course to help us begin preparing for something big that is coming to our mission. I spoke too soon. We are not, in fact, getting I-pads. They just told us some sort of device. We had zone conference Wednesday and the assistants to the president put together a video (Mission possible themed) of them leaving the mission office, sneaking into the mission home and getting a top secret box that we assumed was the i-pads. It was all for show, of course, the the video ended and the assistants came back in and revealed that we are getting.... Samsung Smart phones! (best Zone Conference ever!) The Lord has chosen our mission to be one of the first to go from not technology to smartphones. We are all a little stressed and nervous about it and we are still in the preparatory state! We have been asked to clean up our Facebook page to use as well.

I know that Heavenly Father knows us, loves us, and trusts us. I know Heavenly Father has trust in us and all He asks is that we have trust in him. Whatever comes our way.
1 Nephi 3:7 yet again has helped me get through this and conference was a big help as well. I know the words of Heavenly Fathers servants, our church leaders, are his words and are meant for us to listen to with our Hearts so we can receive revelation. All my Questions were answered from the words and spirit that was brought this weekend. The cool thing is that we can go back and reflect on those words again and again to receive further light and knowledge just like the scriptures. D&C 1:38 is very applicable here as well. Conference was amazing! I hope you got answers to your prayers and I hope you go back to study the revelation to gain more light and knowledge.

prayers to you always.

Sister Grace Crossett

(Oct. 10)

... its been kind of a hectic few days with getting our new phones. We are still trying to figure it all out but I am happy and healthy and trying to not stress about everything.

Today was amazing with the work and this past week we have seen a lot of progress with Shelley, our new investigators Honey and Miley, and also an older gentleman named Randy. Shelley is getting so close to setting a date and She has an amazing testimony. I am doing another Book of Mormon Challenge with her and we are going to try to finish by oct 27.
She is catching up to me!! We are so excited to see her get baptized and receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

We taught Honey (mom) and Miley (daughter) the restoration and they are excited to read the book of Mormon. Miley even asked for a "Book of Childrens Mormon" and she says she wants to be a missionary too :) so Excited for them as well.

Randy is a very intellectual thinker and he prayed for the 1st time last week during our lesson. The book of Mormon will be a huge part of his conversion as well. I Know the book of Mormon is the word of God and It helps us to receive The Spirit and the answers we need in life.

I know Our Savior lives and loves us. He paid the price and we just need to keep the change.

Joy and Light

(Sept.11)

I'm Tired. Most of it is good tired which means we are working hard.
There were times this week that I worked too hard though. Especially
with helping our Investigator Shelley move.   . . . helping her pack up things and get the house ready gave me a taste of what helping you would have been like with your move. I
loved it. Packing, Sorting, Organizing is my favorite.  I also learned
from that and from having a few dinner appointments with a single
sister in the San Clemente ward this week though, that we are not
called to be movers or matchmakers, we are called to be missionaries
for the Lord Jesus Christ. I am so thorough that sometimes I forget
what is most important.

We had really good interviews with president and sister Clark on
Wednesday.  Then Thursday was when we had scheduled another time to go
help Shelley, but right before we needed to go my body completely shut
down and I felt sick with the flu. My body was telling me that I
needed a break. We stayed home and felt better after a long nap.
Things I've been focusing on to help me get through are setting goals
and plans for those goals to help me focus on the most important
things. I also have learned that we need to fill our spiritual
Wells. Christ is the living water and if we don't fill our wells then
we will get thirsty and not have any water to even share with others.
I love this analogy. It is very needed as a missionary.

I continue to learn that Following the Spirit is what will help us be
most happy and accomplish Gods Work. He knows what is best for his
imperfect children and as we do our best to follow him He will provide
a way for us to accomplish the things he commands us.

. . . I love being a missionary. Its hard but is what I am meant to do right now.  The Word of God Is the light that will see our feet through.  psalms 119:105

(Sept. 18)

I have learned this week that Heavenly Father wants us to find joy in his work and in our lives. Just like 2 Nephi 2:25 says, we are meant to have joy. It is part of Gods plan for us here on earth. I have found that as I have been myself while doing his work and have tried to make it fun this week, things have fallen into place and I have received answers to my prayers and insights to help me with my Companion, with the ward leaders, and with the people we are working with.
... As a missionary we report and account for our goals to many leaders and I am really starting to understand and feel of the truthfulness of the divine pattern of returning and reporting. It has helped me with my Christ-like-Attribute I have been working on this transfer, to report each week, along with the weekly call in of numbers to our District Leader, the progress I have made.

It dawned on me today that though I have 5 months left of my mission, I have only 3 transfers left (missionary time keeping :) ) I am not sure at this point what my plans are. . . . Pray that I will be able get it all straightened out. I want to be prepared but I also what to be able to still focus on the work while I'm here. There is more for me to do.

A Few miracles from my week:

On Thursday we were able to stop by a member of the San Clemente ward who is in an assisted living home and going through some health challenges. Her name is Hope and she is amazing. We were there for a long time because she likes to tell stories about her life. I know we were meant to be there though because as I listened I received answers to my prayers and we were able to help her feel that she still had a purpose in her life for being here. I know God knows us and has a purpose for our life.

We were also able to set up a return appointment with a family to be taught next week. Miley is the 10 or 11 year old daughter and she reached out to us and asked us what we were doing. We said we were missionaries and we teach people about Christ. She thought that was pretty cool and told us about a book she was reading about Jesus. We didn't recognize the title but it was cool that she was reading it. We offered her a book of Mormon and she said we could come to her house to see if her parents were interested in learning and her dad said he would love to learn more. We are hoping next weeks lesson goes well :)

Did I tell you about Liz? Well she a young member who is trying to come back to church and we have been teaching her the lessons. We had another one with her this week. It was an ok lesson and she is really struggling right now. I was having a hard day as well. But.... I know that the trials we are given are to help us learn and grow and also to give us the understanding of how we can help others go through similar trials that they are going through. I know that Jesus Christ is the Ultimate Source of our peace and healing. Liz was able to come to church for a little while and that was a miracle.

I hope you have a joyful and Light filled week and I know that Christ is the Source of that Light. Remember him.

Love,

Sister Grace Crossett
